Removal
1.

To remove the back panel, drill out all spotwelds attaching the rear floor side member extension.

2.

Remove the rear floor side member extension mounting bolts (2ea).

3.

Remove the rear floor side member extension.

4.

Drill out all spotwelds and grind away MIG lap welds attaching the back panel.

5.

Remove the back panel.

6.

To remove the rear floor side member, Measure and mark the cutline on the rear suspension mounting reinforcement section.

A.

Cut the rear suspension mounting reinforcement section along the cutline.

note

When cutting the rear suspension mounting reinforcement section, take care not to cut through the wheel housing panel.

B.

Drill out all spotwelds attaching the rear suspension mounting reinforcement section.

7.

Remove the rear suspension mounting reinforcement section.

8.

Drill out all spotwelds attaching the rear floor side rear member.

9.

Remove the rear floor side rear member.

10.

Straighten all flanges as necessary, prepare all surfaces to be welded.

11.

Prepare all surfaces to be welded.

12.

After removing, apply the welding primer.

Installation
1.

Drill the holes in the flange of the replacement rear floor side rear member for MIG plug welding.

2.

Fit and clamp the new rear floor side rear member in place.

3.

Measure each measurement point and correct the installation position.

4.

Spot weld all holes.

note

If spot welding is imposible, MIG plug weld all holes.

Apply epoxy adhesive to the weld points of new panel or body panel.

Be sure to use the recommended epoxy adhesive below.

Epoxy adhesive : 3M(PN8115), Henkel (Terokal 5055) or equivalent

5.

Clean and prepare all welds, remove all residues.

6.

After removing, apply the welding primer.

7.

Reattach the rear suspension mounting reinforcement that was cut off, then MIG plug weld all hole and MIG butt weld the seam.

8.

Drill the holes in the flange of the replacement new back panel for MIG plug welding.

9.

Fit and clamp the back panel in place.

10.

Measure each measurement point (Refer to the Body Dimensions) and correct the installation position.

11.

MIG plug weld all holes.

12.

Drill the holes in the flange of the replacement new rear floor side member extension for MIG plug welding.

13.

MIG plug weld all holes.

14.

Install in the rear floor side member extension mounting bolts (2ea).

note

the rear floor side member extension bolt Tightening torque: 19.6~29.4N.m ( 2~3kgf.m , 14.5~21.7lb-ft)

15.

Clean and prepare all welds, remove all residues.

16.

Apply an anti-corrosion as required (Refer to the Corrosion Protection).

17.

Prepare exterior surfaces for priming, using wax and grease remover.

18.

Apply the correct seam sealer to all joints (Refer to the Body Sealing Locations).
