Terminal and Connector Inspection
1.

Many malfunctions in the electrical system are caused by poor connection. Faults can also be caused by interference from other electrical systems, and mechanical or chemical damage.

2.

Thoroughly check connectors for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration,or damage.

3.

Has a problem been found?

▶ Repair as necessary and go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.

▶ Go to "Squib Circuit Inspection" procedure.

Squib Circuit Inspection
1.

Ignition switch "OFF".

2.

Disconnect (-) terminal cable from battery and wait for 1 minutes or more.

3.

Remove the PAPT connector and connect the dummy and dummy aPAPTer to the PAPT connector.

caution

If dummy and dummy aPAPTor are not able to be prepared, use a known-good PAPT or 2Ω resistor.

4.

Connect (-) terminal cable to battery and Ignition switch "ON" & Engine "OFF" and wait for 30 seconds or more.

5.

Connect GDS to Data Link Connector(DLC) and clear DTC with GDS and diagnose again.

6.

Is any DTC present?

▶ Go to "Main Circuit Inspection" procedure.

▶ If no problems were found with the circuits or connectors, Replace the PAPT and go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.

Main Circuit Inspection
1.

Ignition switch "OFF".

2.

Disconnect the battery (-) terminal cable from the battery and wait at least one minutes.

3.

Disconnect PAPT connector.

4.

Ignition Switch "ON", Engine "OFF"

5.

Measure waveform between terminal pin No.2(Low) of PAPT harness connector and chassis ground.

6.

Measure waveform between terminal pin No.1(High) of PAPT harness connector and chassis ground.

7.

Is the measured signal waveform within specifications?

▶ If no problems were found with the circuits or connectors, Replace the SRSCM and go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.

▶ If no problems were found with the circuits or connectors, Replace the SRSCM main circuit and go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.
