Many malfunctions in the electrical system are caused by poor connection. Faults can also be caused by interference from other electrical systems, and mechanical or chemical damage.
Thoroughly check connectors for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration,or damage.
Has a problem been found?

Engine "ON", Head Lamp & heatwire "ON".
Measure voltage between the battery terminal (+) and (-) maintaining ENG. RPM 2,500RPM (idle) over 2 minutes.
Specification : Approx. 14.5V

Is the measured voltage within specifications?

![]() | ▶ If no problems were found with the circuits or connectors, Replace the alternator and go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure. |
Ignition "OFF'.
Disconnect the battery (-) terminal cable from the battery, and wait at least one minutes.
Disconnect the SRSCM connector.
Connect the battery (-) terminal cable and start engine.
Measure voltage between Pin No.7 (ON/START input) terminal of the SRSCM harness connector and chassis ground.

Is the measured value within specifications?

![]() | ▶ If no problems were found with the circuits or connectors, Replace the main wiring of SRSCM and go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure. |
Ignition switch "OFF".
Disconnect the battery (-) terminal cable from the battery, and wait at least one minutes.
Disconnect the SRSCM connector.
Measure resistance between Pin No. 10 (Ground) terminal of the SRSCM harness connector and chassis ground.
Specification : Approx. below 1 Ω

Is the measured value within specifications?

The seat belt pre-tensioner, curtain airbag and side airbag can be operated when the SRSCM has an impact and rotation when ignition switch is "ON". It may be caused serious risk. |
