Terminal and Connector Inspection
1.

Many malfunctions in the electrical system are caused by poor harness and terminals.

Faults can also be caused by interference from other electrical systems, and mechanical or chemical damage.

2.

Thoroughly check all connectors (and connections) for looseness, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, and/or damage.

3.

Has a problem been found?

▶ Repair as necessary and then go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.

▶ Go to "Power Circuit Inspection" procedure.

Power Circuit Inspection
1.

Ignition "OFF"

2.

Refer to "Shop Manual" and disconnect Front Right PAS Sensor connector.

3.

Ignition "ON"

4.

Measure voltage between Pin No. 6 (Power) terminal of Front Right PAS Sensor harness conenctor and chassis ground.

Specification : Approx. 12 V

5.

Is measured value within specification?

▶ Go to "Ground Circuit Inspection" procedure.

▶ Repair open or short in power circuit between Front Right PAS Sensor and Battery and then go to "Verification of vehicle Repair" procedure.

Ground Circuit Inspection
1.

Ignition "OFF"

2.

Disconnect Battery (-) terminal.

3.

Refer to "Shop Manual" and disconnect Front Right PAS Sensor connector.

4.

Measure resistance between Pin No. 4 (Ground) terminal of Front Right PAS Sensor harness connector and chassis ground.

5.

Measure resistance between Pin No. 5 (LID 3) terminal of Front Right PAS Sensor harness connector and chassis ground.

6.

Measure resistance between Pin No. 3 (LID 2) terminal of Front Right PAS Sensor harness connector and chassis ground.

7.

Measure resistance between Pin No. 2 (LID 1) terminal of Front Right PAS Sensor harness connector and chassis ground

Specification : Approx. below 1 Ω

8.

Is measured value within specification?

▶ Go to "Component Inspection" procedure.

▶ Repair open or short in power circuit between Front Right PAS Sensor and Chassis ground and then go to "Verification of vehicle Repair" procedure.
