Monitor DTC Status
1.

Connect GDS to Data Link Connector(DLC).

2.

Ignition "ON"

3.

Monitor "Diagnostic Trouble Codes(DTC)" with GDS.

Is DTC status displayed as Present?

▶ Go to "Monitor GDS Data" procedure.

▶ Go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedue.

Monitor GDS Data
■ Check DTC
1.

Ignition "ON" & Engine "OFF"

2.

Connect GDS to Data Link Connector (DLC).

3.

Select "Diagnostic Trouble Codes(DTC)" mode.

4.

After erase DTC, keep the vehicle condition within "The enable conditions".

(Refer to "DTC Detecting Condition" table)

5.

Is the same DTC occurred again?

▶ Substitute with a known-good SPAS ECU and check for proper operation.

If problem is corrected, replace SPAS ECU and then go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.

* When replace SPAS ECU, must do Variant Coding.(Please refer to C1702 DTC)

▶ Fault is intermittent caused by poor connection in SPAS ECU's connector or was repaired and SPAS ECU memory was not cleared. Thoroughly check connectors for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, or damage.

Repair or replace as necessary and then go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.

■ SPAS Variant Coding
1.

Connect GDS to Data Link Connector (DLC).

2.

Ignition "ON" & Engine "OFF".

3.

After selecting SPAS Variant Coding function in "Vehicle S/W Management", do the SPAS Variant coding in the vehicles

* After SPAS Variant Coding, do Ignition SW OFF

4.

Dose be completed the SPAS Variant Coding?

▶ Check the applicable troubleshooting procedure repeatedly.

Go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.

▶ Substitute with a known-good Sample of SPAS and check for proper operation.

If problem is corrected, replace SPAS and then go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.
