Terminal and Connector Inspection
1.

Many malfunctions in the electrical system are caused by poor harness and terminals.

Faults can also be caused by interference from other electrical systems, and mechanical or chemical damage.

2.

Thoroughly check all connectors (and connections) for looseness, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, and/or damage.

3.

Has a problem been found?

▶ Repair as necessary and then go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.

▶ Go to "Ground Circuit Inspection" procedure.

Ground Circuit Inspection
1.

Ignition "OFF".

2.

Disconnect Data Link Connector(DLC).

3.

Refer to "Shop Manual" and disconnect TCU connector.

4.

Measure resistance between Pin No. 5 (Ground) terminal of Sports Mode Switch harness connector and chassis ground.

Specification : Approx. below 1 Ω

5.

Is measured value within specification?

▶ Go to "Signal Circuit Inspection" procedure.

▶ Repair open in ground circuit between Sports Mode Switch and chassis ground and then go to "Verification of vehicle Repair" procedure.

Signal Circuit Inspection
1.

Ignition "OFF".

2.

Disconnect Battery (-) terminal.

3.

Refer to "Shop Manual" and disconnect Sports Mode Switch connector.

4.

Measure resistance between Pin No. 7 (Signal) terminal of Sports Mode Switch harness connector and chassis ground.

Specification : Infinite(∞) Ω

5.

Is measured value within specification?

▶ Go to "Component Inspection" procedure.

▶ Repair short to ground in signal circuit between Sports Mode Switch and TCU and then go to "Verification of vehicle Repair" procedure.
