Component Inspection
■ Check VSS
1.

IG "OFF"

2.

Disconnect battery (-) cable.

3.

Refer to "Shop Manual" and remove the VSS and the driven gear assembly.

4.

Check the rotation of VSS driven gear.

5.

Connect the VSS to connector.

6.

Connect VMI to GDS and perform the oscilloscope.(2 Channel):

Channel A (+) : Pin No. 3 (signal) terminal (VSS connector side)

Channel A (-) : Ground

7.

Rotate the driven gear using hand.

Specification : Refer to Fig. below

8.

Is the measured value within specification?

▶ Fault is intermittent caused by poor contact in the sensor’s and/or ECM’s connector or was repaired and ECM memory was not cleared. Thoroughly check connectors for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, or damage. Repair or replace as necessary and go to "Verification of vehicle Repair" procedure.

▶ If no problems were found with the circuits or connectors, Replace the VSS and go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.

After replacing DPF DPS, perform "Component Change Routine". Otherwise, problem that performance or emission concerned can be occured from replacing the part.

Be careful to avoid putting dust into the hall of VSS.

If the Splint(A) is worn, install a new splint.

Install a new O-ring.
