1.

Ignition Switch "OFF"

2.

Connnect GDS to Data Link Connector (DLC)

3.

Engine "OFF"

4.

Check "Current Data" as below using GDS.

5.

Inspection condition : Engine Idle & 2,000rpm & 5,000rpm

Specification : RPS voltage at 2,000rpm - Max. Approx. 1.76V(Fig. 1)

RPS voltage at 5,000rpm - Max. Approx. 3.65V(Fig. 2)

6.

Is the measured value within specification?

▶ Fault is intermittent caused by poor contact in the sensor’s and/or ECM’s connector or was repaired and ECM memory was not cleared. Thoroughly check connectors for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, or damage. Repair or replace as necessary and go to "Verification of vehicle Repair" procedure.

▶ If no problems were found with the circuits or connectors, Replace the RPS unit and go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.

warning

When install a part, tighten it within specification.

When drop down the part, check part's operating condition whether it is damaged or not.

warning

After replacing the RPS, perform "Component Change Routine". Otherwise, problem that performance or emission concerned can be occured from replacing the part.
