Remove the fuel pump service cover (A).
Turn the ignition switch OFF and disconnect the battery negative (-) terminal.
Remove the rear seat cushion.
(Refer to "SEAT" in BD group).
Remove the fuel pump service cover (A).
Disconnect the fuel pump connector (A) and the fuel feed tube quick-connector (B).
Disconnect the fuel return tube quick-connector (C).
Disconnect the leveling hose (D).
Remove the plate cover (E) after removing the installation bolts, and then remove the fuel pump from the fuel tank.
Installation is reverse of removal.
Fuel pump plate cover mounting bolt:
2.0 ~ 2.9 N.m (0.2 ~ 0.3 kgf.m, 1.4 ~ 2.2 lb-ft)
After removing or replacing the part below, bleed air in low pressure fuel circuit.

Turn the ignition switch OFF, and then remove battery (-) terminal.
Remove the fuel pump assembly.
Using an ohmmeter, measure the resistance between terminals 1 and 3 of sender connector (A) at each float level.

Also check that the resistance changes smoothly when the float is moved from "E" to "F".

Turn the ignition switch OFF, and then remove battery (-) terminal.
Remove the fuel pump assembly.

Check that motor operates properly when battery voltage is applied to terminals 2 and 4 of fuel pump connector (A).
