Loosen the wheel nuts slightly.
Raise the vehicle, and make sure it is securely supported.
Remove the front wheel and tire (A) from front hub .
Tightening torque:
88.2 ~ 107.8 N.m (9.0 ~ 11.0 kgf.m, 65.0 ~ 79.5 lb-ft)
Be careful not to damage to the hub bolts when removing the front wheel and tire (A).
Remove the brake caliper mounting bolts , and then hold the brake caliper assembly (B) with wire.
Tightening torque:
78.4 ~ 98.0 N.m (8.0 ~ 10.0 kgf.m, 57.8 ~ 72.3 lb-ft)
Remove the brake hose mounting bracket (A) & wheel speed sensor (B).
Remove driveshaft nut (A) from the front hub under applying the brake.
Tightening torque:
274.4 ~ 294.3 N.m ( 28.0 ~ 30.0 kgf.m, 202.4 ~ 217.0 lb-ft)
The driveshaft lock nut must be replaced with new type (Part №: 49551-3X000).
After tightening the driveshaft lock nut to the specified torque, caulk the lock nut from two sides using a chisel and hammer as shown in the illustration below.
Caulking depth (A) : 1.5 mm (0.591 in.)
Remove the tie rod end ball joint from the knuckle by using the SST(09568-34000).
Remove the split pin (A).
Remove the castle nut (B).
Use the SST(09568-34000).
Tightening torque:
15.6 ~ 33.3 N.m (1.6 ~ 3.4 kgf.m, 11.5 ~ 24.5 lb-ft)
Remove the lower arm (A) from the knuckle by using the SST (09568-34000).
Tightening torque:
58.8 ~ 70.6 Nm (6.0 ~ 7.2 kgf.m, 43.4 ~ 52.1 lb-ft)
When using SST, be sure not to damage the dust cover of lower arm ball joint.
Keep SST tied to the car because there is a risk of injury by dropping the SST during removing the lower arm ball joint.
The peripheral parts may be damaged when removing the lower arm ball joint with a general tool such as lever, so be sure to use SST.
Disconnect the driveshaft (A) from the front hub assembly.
Loosen the strut mounting bolts and then remove the knuckle assembly (A).
Tightening torque:
98.1 ~ 117.7 N.m (10.0 ~ 12.0 kgf.m, 72.3 ~ 86.8 lb-ft)
Install in the reverse order of removal.
