1.
Check for continuity between the tailgate outside handle terminals.
Refer to the BE group - inspection / self diagnosis with GDS.

Check for continuity between the tailgate outside handle terminals.
If continuity is not specified, inspect the switch.
Take care not to scratch the crash pad and related parts.
Disconnect the negative(-) battery terminal.
Remove the main crash pad
(Refer to the BR group - "Crash pad")
Loosen the nuts (2EA) from the smart key unit (A) and bracket.
Disconnect the negative(-) battery terminal.
Remove the main crash pad.
(Refer to the BD group - "Crash pad")
After loosening the antenna nuts (2EA) and connector, remove the interior 1 antenna (A).
Disconnect the negative(-) battery terminal.
Remove the center console rear cover (A).
(Refer to the BD group - "Console")
Take care not to damage and scratch the console rear cover and its related parts.
Apply the protective tapes to the console rear cover and its related parts.
Disconnect the interior 2 antenna connector located at the console rear side, then remove the interior 2 antenna (A) after loosening screws (2EA).
Disconnect the negative(-) battery terminal.
Remove the scuff trim.
(Refer to the BD group - "Interior trim")
After loosening the antenna nuts (2EA) and connector (A), remove the trunk antenna (B).
Disconnect the negative(-) battery terminal.
Remove the rear bumper.
(Refer to the BD group - "Rear bumper")
Disconnect the antenna connector (A) and remove the exterior bumper antenna (B) after loosening the screws (2EA).
Disconnect the negative(-) battery terminal.
Remove the left side wheel guard.
Remove the external buzzer (A) after disconnecting the connector.
Disconnect the negative (-) battery terminal.
After loosening the mounting bolt, then remove the key holder (A).

Remove the outside handle (A) by sliding it rearward.
Disconnect the connector after removing the door trim.
Disconnect the negative(-) battery terminal.
Remove the trunk door trim.
(Refer to the BD group - "Trunk")
Remove the switch (B) after removing the trunk lid open switch connector (A).
Install the smart key unit.
Connect the connector and install the smart key unit.
Install the glove box.
Install the negative (-) battery terminal and check the smart key system.
Install the interior 1 antenna.
Install the main crash pad.
Install the negative (-) battery terminal and check the smart key system.
Install the interior 2 antenna.
Install the floor console.
Install the negative (-) battery terminal and check the smart key system
Install the trunk antenna.
Install the trunk transverse trim.
Install the negative (-) battery terminal and check the smart key system.
Install the exterior bumper antenna.
Install the rear bumper.
Install the negative (-) battery terminal and check the smart key system.
Install the buzzer.
Install the left side wheel gurad.
Install the negative (-) battery terminal and check the smart key system.
Install the door outside handle.
Install the door trip.
Install the negative (-) battery terminal and check the smart key system.
Install the trunk open switch.
Install the trunk trim.
Install the negative (-) battery terminal and check the smart key system.
