Measure the voltage between power terminals of the main relay harness connector and chassis ground.

Is voltage within the specification?

Measure the voltage between 'power to sensor' terminal of the main relay harness connector and chassis ground.
Specification : Approx. 0V & 4.5V
Is value within the specification?

Ignition "OFF".
With PCM connector disconnected, measure voltage between main relay control terminal of the PCM harness connector and chassis ground.
Specification : Approx. B+
Is voltage within the specification?

![]() | ▶ Check control circuit for open or short circuit between main relay and PCM. Repair as necessary and go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure. |

Is voltage within the specification?

Many malfunctions in the electrical system are caused by poor harness(es) and terminals. Faults can also be caused by interference from other electrical systems, and mechanical or chemical damage.
Thoroughly check connectors for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, or damage.
