Diagnostic Procedure
1.

Hold the injector with hand and check the operation of the injector while starting.

2.

Is the injector operated normally?

▶ Go to "Injector leakage inspection" procedure as below.

▶ Go to "Injector resistance and circuit inspection" procedure as below.

Measure resistance between power terminal and control terminal of the injector after disconnecting injector connector.

■ Specification : 13.8~15.2Ω (20℃)

4.

Is the injector resistance within specification ?

▶ Go to "Injector power circuit inspection" procedure as below.

▶ Replace the injector.

5.

Remove Injector and delivery pipe assembly.

6.

Check fuel leakage from injector while "Fuel pump" actuation test.

7.

Is there fuel leakage from injector?

▶ Go to "Injector power circuit inspection" procedure as below.

▶ Go to "Fuel supply state inspection" procedure.

Injector power circuit inspection
1.

Measure the voltage between power terminal of the injector harness connector and chassis ground at IG key "ON".

■ Specification : B+

2.

Is voltage within the specification?

▶ Go to "Injector control circuit inspection" procedure as below.

▶ Thoroughly check connectors for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, or damage.

▶ Check for open circuit between power terminal of the injector harness connector and ECM harness connector.

▶ Check for short to ground in power circuit between power terminal of the injector harness connector and ECM harness connector.

Measure the voltage between control terminal of the injector harness connector and chassis ground at IG key "ON".

■ Specification : Approx. 4.36 V

4.

Is voltage within the specification?

▶ Go to "Injector waveform inspection" procedure as below.

▶ Thoroughly check connectors for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, or damage.

▶ Check for open circuit between control terminal of the injector harness connector and ECM harness connector.

▶ Check for short to ground in control circuit between control terminal of the injector harness connector and ECM harness connector.

▶ Substitute with a known-good injector and check for proper operation. If the problem is corrected, Replace the ECM.

5.

Select oscilloscope function and Measure the waveform of the control terminal of the injector harness connector at IG key "START".

Is the injector waveform displayed normally?

▶ Go to "Fuel supply state inspection" procedure.

▶ Thoroughly check connectors for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, or damage.

▶ Check for open circuit between control terminal of the injector harness connector and ECM harness connector.

▶ Check for short to ground in control circuit between control terminal of the injector harness connector and ECM harness connector.

▶ Substitute with a known-good injector and check for proper operation. If the problem is corrected, Replace the ECM.
