Diagnostic Procedure

Coolant temperature should be higher than intake air temperature at warm idle.

If coolant temperature is below 40℃ (104℉), not engine stalling but high engine RPM could be detected.

1.

Check if there is a big difference between "Coolant Temperature sensor" and "Intake Air Temperature sensor" after engine warming up.

■ Specification : At initial starting, coolant temperature sensor is similar to intake air temperature sensor.

2.

Is the ECTS data normal?

▶ Go to "Fuel supply state inspection" procedure.

▶ Thoroughly check connectors for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, or damage.

▶ Check for open circuit in the ECTS circuit.

▶ Check for short to ground in the ECTS circuit.

▶Substitute with a known-good ECTS and check for proper operation. If the problem is corrected, Replace the ECTS.
