Measure the potential (voltage drop) between terminal "B" of the starter and battery (+) terminal at IG key "START".
■ Specification : Below 500 mV
● (+) probe → "BATTERY" (+) terminal
● (-) probe → "START MOTOR" 'B' terminal
Measure the potential (voltage drop) between terminal "B" of the starter and battery (+) terminal at IG key "START".
■ Specification : Below 500 mV
● (+) probe → "BATTERY" (+) terminal
● (-) probe → "START MOTOR" 'B' terminal
Is measured potential (voltage drop) within specification?
 | ▶ Go to "Starter Chassis ground Inspection" procedure as below. |
 | ▶ Repair open or poor connection in the harness between battery(+) terminal and terminal "B" of starter. |
Measure the potential (voltage drop) between battery(-) terminal and chassis ground at IG key "START".
■ Specification : Below 500 mV
● (+) probe → "BATTERY" (-) terminal
● (-) probe → Chassis ground
Is measured potential (voltage drop) within specification?
| ▶ Check engine stuck rotating engine crank shaft. ▶ Check poor connection of the starter. ▶ Repair or replace the starter. |
| ▶ Repair open or poor connection in the harness between battery (-) terminal and chassis ground. |
