General Description
C163386

LKAS determines the current vehicle speed based on signals from the vehicle speed sensor and uses the vehicle speed to determine lane-keeping control conditions. The vehicle speed signals transmitted via Cluster are transferred to LKAS. Based on these signals, LKAS determines the vehicle speed to control steering force.

C163387

LKAS takes various vehicle conditions, including vehicle speed, yaw rate, and other data from horizontal acceleration sensor, direction indicator lights, steering column and cluster, as input via CAN High and Low lines. Based on these signals transmitted via Cluster, LKAS determines the vehicle speed to control steering force.

LKAS is a steering assist system that maintains the vehicle within a lane by detecting the lane via a camera, calculating the vehicle position and the steering force required to keep the vehicle running in the center of the lane, and controlling the vehicle accordingly. The system consists of a LKAS unit, cluster, MDPS and power switch. Based on vehicle speed signals transmitted via Cluster, LKAS determines the vehicle speed to control steering force.

DTC Description
C163386

If an undefined vehicle signal is sent by Cluster via CAN lines, LKAS generates the fault code C163386 and turns on the Malfunction Indicator Lamp.

C163387

While communicating with the Cluster module, if an invalid signal is received, the LKAS module generates the fault code C163387 and turns on the Malfunction Indicator Lamp.

DTC Detecting Condition

Item

Detecting Condition

Possible Cause

DTC Strategy

Detect a CAN communication signal

1.

Poor contact with a connector

2.

Open or short-circuited CAN communication line

3.

IPM

4.

CLUSTER

Enable Conditions

If the vehicle speed is 50 km/h or faster when IG is "ON" or the engine is "ON."

Threshold Value

If an invalid vehicle speed signal is received in a Cluster message for more than 3 times
