Terminal and Connector inspection
1.

Many malfunctions in the electrical system are caused by poor harness and terminals.

Faults can also be caused by interference from other electrical systems, and mechanical or chemical damage.

2.

Thoroughly check connectors for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, or damage.

3.

Has a problem been found?

▶ Repair as necessary and go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure

▶ Go to next step as below

Power Circuit Inspection
1.

IG Key OFF

2.

Install the oscilloscope to CVVL Motor connector.

3.

IG Key ON - Engine run

4.

Check the operation status of CVVL motor PWM.

Specification : DC 9 ~ 16V

5.

Is the measured voltage within specification ?

▶ Go to next step as below.

▶ Check the control status of CVVL motor PWM and open circuit of DC motor control and then go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.

→ ECU sets P1034 when PWM for motor control is higher than 17%, control current for DC motor is lower than 1A.
