Terminal and Connector Inspection
1.

Many malfunctions in the electrical system are caused by poor harness and terminals.

Faults can also be caused by interference from other electrical systems, and mechanical or chemical damage.

2.

Thoroughly check all connectors (and connections) for looseness, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, and/or damage.

3.

Has a problem been found?

▶ Repair as necessary and then go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.

▶ Go to "EWGA Feedback Sensor Circuit Inspection" procedure.

■ Power Circuit Inspection
1.

Ignition "OFF".

2.

Refer to "Shop Manual" and disconnect Electric Waste Gate Actuator (EWGA) connector.

3.

Ignition "ON".

4.

Measure voltage between Pin No. 6 (Power) terminal of Electric Waste Gate Actuator (EWGA) harness connector and chassis ground.

Specification : Approx. 5V

5.

Is measured value within specification?

▶ Go to "Ground Circuit Inpsection" procedure.

▶ Repair open or short in power circuit between Electric Waste Gate Actuator (EWGA) and ECM/PCM and then go to "Verification of vehicle Repair" procedure.
