Terminal and Connector Inspection
1.

Disconnect the CMPS and PCM connectors and inspect for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration or damage. Reconnect the connectors.

2.

Connect the GDS and go to "Current Data".

3.

Monitor CMPS values in Current Data, check and wiggle the harness(es), connector(s), and terminal(s).

4.

Any change in the values indicates a poor connection. Was a connector problem found?

▶ Repair the connector. Go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.

▶ Go to "Power Circuit Inspection" procedure.

Power Circuit Inspection
■ Check voltage
1.

IG "OFF". Disconnect CMPS #1 connector.

2.

IG "ON".

3.

Measure voltage between power terminal of CMPS #1 harness connector and chassis ground.

Specification : Approx. B+

4.

Is the measured voltage within specification ?

▶ Go to "Ground Circuit Inspection" procedure.

▶ Repair open in harness. Go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.

Ground Circuit Inspection
■ Check short to battery in harness
1.

IG "OFF". Disconnect CMPS #1 connector.

2.

Measure resistance between ground terminal of CMPS #1 harness connector and chassis ground.

Specification : Approx. 0Ω

3.

Is resistance within the specification?

▶ Go to "Signal Circuit Inspection" procedure.

▶ Repair as necessary and go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.
