DTC Description

The purpose of this diagnosis is to detect intake air temperature signal stuck. PCM sets DTC P0111 when the variation of measured intake air temperature from engine start is smaller than threshold while variation of calculated intake air temperature by PCM is greater than threshold.

Coolant temperature is higher than 74℃(165℉)

Engine speed is at between 1500rpm and 4000rpm

Intake air temperature difference during 12 sec. is less than 1.5℃(34.7℉)

Ambient air temperature difference during 12 sec. is less than 1.5℃(34.7℉)

Vehicle speed is at between 55.5 km/h (43.5 mph) and 130 km/h (81 mph)

Case 2

60 sec. after engine start

Coolant temperature is lower than 34℃(93.2℉)

Engine soak time is longer than 450 min.

Intake air temperature difference during 12 sec. is less than 1.5℃(34.7℉)

Ambient air temperature difference during 12 sec. is less than 1.5℃(34.7℉)

Threshold Value

Case 1

Diagnosis when the ambient air temp. value is higher or lower than model temperature

Difference between ambient air temp. sensor and model value is more than 20℃(68℉)

Case 2

Diagnosis when the ambient air temp. value is higher or lower than model temperature

Difference between ambient air temp. sensor and intake temp. model value is more than 15℃(59℉)
