DTC Strategy

Evaluate O2 Sensor Element temperature via measuring element resistance

1.

Poor Connector Connection

2.

Defected related fuse

3.

Open/Short in Power Circuit

4.

Open/Short in Control Circuit

5.

Defected Downstream O2 Sensor

Enable Conditions

Engine speed during engine start higher than 640 RPM to 960 RPM depending on start ECT

Downstream O2 Sensor Heater Pulse Width Modulation(PWM) higher than 3.5% and lower than 96.5%

Downstream O2 sensor pre-heating phase finished

77℉(25℃) ECT drop since last engine stop

Downstream O2 sensor operative readiness detected;

[Downstream O2 sensor voltage lower than 0.25V and higher than 0.56V & Downstream O2 sensor max heating finished or Downstream Exhaust gas Temp. higher than 842℉(450℃)]

Battery voltage higher than 11 V and lower than 16 V

No relevant DTC present

Threshold Value

Too slow Downstream O2 sensor tip Temp. increase after engine start causing too low catalyst diagnosis result

Downstream O2 sensor internal resistance higher than 10000Ω to 18000Ω versus time after start(O2 sensor heater power lower than 20% of nominal heater power)

Diagnostic Time

130 sec.
