Component Inspection
1.

Connect GDS to Data Link Connector(DLC).

2.

Engine "ON".

3.

Perfrom "In-Line mode - Apply/Release" test item in "Actuation Test" with GDS.

4.

Monitor "Motor Current(LH)" and "Motor Current(RH)" parameters in "Current Data" with GDS.

Specification : Max. Current Approx. 70A

5.

Is parameter displayed within specification ?

▶ Go to next procedure.

▶ Check EPB Actuator circuit and repair or replace as necessary and repeat above repair procedure.

▶ If probelm still occurs, substitute with known-good EPB Actuator and check for proper operation. If problem is corrected, replace EPB Actuator and then go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.

▶ After above repair procedure is perfromed and problem still occurs, replace EPB ECU and then go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.

6.

Connect GDS to Data Link Connector(DLC).

7.

Ignition "OFF" and then "ON".

8.

Monitor "Diagnostic Trouble Codes(DTC)" with GDS.

9.

Is DTC status displayed as present?

▶ Substitute with known-good EPB ECU and check for proper operation. If problem is corrected, replace EPB ECU and then go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.

▶ Fault might be intermittent and caused either by poor contact in connectors or wiring harness, or it has been repaired and Control Module memory is not cleared yet. Thoroughly check terminal of battery, all connectors (and connections) for looseness, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, and/or damage.

▶ Repair as necessary and then go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.
