Terminal and Connector Inspection
1.

Many malfunctions in the electrical system are caused by poor harness and terminals. Faults can also be caused by interference from other electrical systems, and mechanical or chemical damage.

2.

Thoroughly check connectors for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration,or damage.

3.

Has a problem been found ?

▶ Repair as necessary and go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.

▶ Go to next procedure.

Signal Inspection
■ Signal Check
1.

IG key "OFF".

2.

Disconnect LKAS Switch connector.

3.

IG "ON" or ENG "ON".

4.

Measure voltage between terminal signal of LKAS Switch harness connector and chassis ground.

Specification : 5V

5.

Is the measured value within specification ?

▶ Go to next procedure.

▶ Substitute with a known-good "LKAS ECU" and check for proper operation. If the problem is corrected, replace "LKAS ECU" and then go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.

▶ Repair as necessary and then go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.

■ Short to battery check

IG key "OFF".

7.

Disconnect between LKAS switch connector and LKAS ECU harness connector.

8.

IG "ON".

9.

Check for short, the connector of LKAS signal switch and the ground of LKAS harness.

10.

Is the measured value normal ?

▶ Go to next procedure.

▶ Check for open or short, the connector of LKAS signal switch and harness of LKAS ECU.

▶ Repair as necessary and go to "Verification of vehicle Repair" procedure.
