Terminal and Connector Inspection
1.

Many malfunctions in the electrical system are caused by poor harness and terminals. Faults can also be caused by interference from other electrical systems, and mechanical or chemical damage.

2.

Thoroughly check all connectors(and connections) for looseness, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, and/or damage.

3.

Has a problem been found ?

▶ Repair as necessary and go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.

▶ Go to "Power Circuit Inspection" procedure.

Power Circuit Inspection
1.

Ignition "OFF".

2.

Disconnect Yaw Rate Sensor connector.

3.

Measure voltage between power terminal of Yaw Rate Sensor harness connector and chassis ground.

Specification : Approx. 0V

4.

Disconnect Battery (-) terminal.

5.

Measure resistance between power terminal of Yaw Rate Sensor harness connector and chassis ground.

Specification : Infinite Ω

6.

Is measured value within specification?

▶ Go to next procedure.

▶ Repair open or short in power circuit between HECU and Yaw Rate Sensor harness connector and then go to "Verification of vehicle Repair" procedure.

7.

Ignition "OFF".

8.

Disconnect Yaw Rate Sensor connector.

9.

Ignition "ON".

10.

Measure voltage between power terminal of Yaw Rate Sensor harness connector and chassis ground.

Specification : B+

11.

Is measured value within specification?

▶ Fault might be intermittent and caused either by poor contact in connectors or wiring harness, or it has been repaired and control module memory is not cleared yet. Thoroughly check terminal of battery, all connectors (and connections) for looseness, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, and/or damage.

▶ Repair or replace as necessary and then go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.

▶ Go to next procedure.

12.

Ignition "OFF".

13.

Disconnect Battery (-) terminal.

14.

Disconnect Yaw Rate Sensor and HECU connector.

15.

Measure resistance between power terminal of Yaw Rate Sensor harness connector and Yaw Rate Sensor power terminal of HECU harness connector.

Specification : Approx. below 1Ω

16.

Is measure value within specification?

▶ Substitute with known-good HECU and check for proper operation. If problem is corrected, replace HECU and then go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.

caution

In case of replacing HECU, perform following procedures.

1. "ASP Calibration" for steering angle sensor offset correction.

2. "Longitudinal G-Sensor Calibration" for longitudinal sensor offset correction.

3. "Variant Coding".

▶ Repair open or short in power circuit between Yaw Rate Sensor and HECU harness connector and then go to "Verification of vehicle Repair" procedure.
