Terminal and Connector Inspection
1.

Many malfunctions in the electrical system are caused by poor harness and terminals. Faults can also be caused by interference from other electrical systems, and mechanical or chemical damage.

2.

Thoroughly check all connectors(and connections) for looseness, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, and/or damage.

3.

Has a problem been found ?

▶ Repair as necessary and go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.

▶ Go to "Power Circuit Inspection" procedure.

Power Circuit Inspection
1.

Lift vehicle with suitable lift and refer to shop manual to remove wheel and wheel guard.

2.

Ignition "ON".

3.

Back probe and measure voltage between power terminal of Front RH wheel speed sensor and chassis ground.

Specification : B+

4.

Is the measured value within specifications ?

▶ Go to "Signal Circuit Inspection" procedure.

▶ Repair open or short in power circuit between HECU and Front RH wheel speed sensor harness connector and then go to "Verification of vehicle Repair" procedure.

Signal Circuit Inspection
1.

Lift vehicle with suitable lift and refer to shop manual to remove wheel and wheel guard.

2.

Ignition "ON".

3.

Rotate the disc slowly by hands.

4.

Back probe and measure signal waveform between signal terminal of Front RH wheel speed sensor and chassis ground with GDS.

Specification : High Approx. 1.18 ~1.68V / Low Approx. 0.59 ~ 0.84V

Fig.1) Normal wheel speed sensor signal waveform when rotating wheel.

5.

Is the measured waveform within specifications ?

▶ Go to "Component Inspection" procedure.

▶ Repair open or short in signal circuit between HECU and Front RH wheel speed sensor harness connector and then go to "Verification of vehicle Repair" procedure.
