Visually check for brake lamp operation condition.
Specification : Refer to Figure Below
Connect GDS to Data Link Connector(DLC).
Ignition "ON".
Perform "ESS Brake Lamp Relay(ESS Only)" in "Actuation Test" with GDS.
Monitor "ESS Brake Lamp Relay(ESS Only)" parameter in "Current Data" with GDS.
Visually check for brake lamp operation condition.

Is measured value within specification?
 | ▶ Fault might be intermittent and caused either by poor contact in connectors or wiring harness, or it has been repaired and control module memory is not cleared yet. Thoroughly check terminal of battery, all connectorss(and connections) for looseness, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, and/or damage. ▶ Repair or replace as necessary and then go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure. |
 | ▶ Substitute with known-good ESS Brake Lamp Relay and then check for proper operation. If problem is corrected, replace ESS Brake Lamp Relay and then go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure. |
