Terminal and Connector Inspection
1.

Many malfunctions in the electrical system are caused by poor harness and terminals.

Faults can also be caused by interference from other electrical systems, and mechanical or chemical damage.

2.

Thoroughly check all connectors (and connections) for looseness, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, and/or damage.

3.

Has a problem been found?

▶ Repair as necessary and then go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.

▶ Go to "Power Circuit Inspection" procedure.

Power Circuit Inspection
■ A/C Pressure Transducer Power Circuit Inspection
1.

Ignition "OFF".

2.

Refer to "Shop Manual" and disconnect A/C Pressure Transducer connector.

3.

Ignition "ON".

4.

Measure voltage between Pin No. 3 (Power) terminal of A/C Pressure Transducer harness connector and chassis ground.

Specification : Approx. 5V

■ Fuel Rail Pressure Sensor Power Circuit Inspection
5.

Ignition "OFF".

6.

Refer to "Shop Manual" and disconnect Fuel Pressure Sensor(FPS) connector.

7.

Ignition "ON".

8.

Measure voltage between Pin No. 1 (Power) terminal of Fuel Pressure Sensor(FPS) harness connector and chassis ground.

Specification : Approx. 5 V

9.

Is measured value within specification?

▶ Go to "Ground Circuit Inspection" procedure.

▶ Repair open or short in power circuit, and then go to "Verification of vehicle Repair" procedure.

Ground Circuit Inspection
■ A/C Pressure Transducer Ground Circuit Inspection
1.

Ignition "OFF".

2.

Disconnect Battery (-) terminal.

3.

Refer to "Shop Manual" and disconnect A/C Pressure Transducer connector.

4.

Measure resistance between Pin No. 1 (Ground) terminal of A/C Pressure Transducer harness connector and chassis ground.

Specification : Approx. below 1 Ω

■ Fuel Rail Pressure Sensor Ground Circuit Inspection
5.

Ignition "OFF".

6.

Disconnect Battery (-) terminal.

7.

Refer to "Shop Manual" and disconnect Fuel Pressure Sensor(FPS) connector.

8.

Measure resistance between Pin No. 3 (Ground) terminal of Fuel Pressure Sensor(FPS) harness connector and chassis ground.

Specification : Approx. below 1 Ω

9.

Is measured value within specification?

▶ Go to "Component Inspection" procedure.

▶ Repair open or short in ground circuit, and then go to "Verification of vehicle Repair" procedure.
