Terminal and Connector Inspection
1.

Many malfunctions in the electrical system are caused by poor harness and terminals.

Faults can also be caused by interference from other electrical systems, and mechanical or chemical damage.

2.

Thoroughly check connectors for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, or damage.

3.

Has a problem been found?

▶ Repair as necessary and go to "Verification of vehicle Repair" procedure.

▶ Go to "Power Circuit Inspection" procedure.

Power Circuit Inspection
1.

Ignition "OFF".

2.

Ignition "ON".

3.

Measure voltage between Pin No. 11 (Control) terminal of EMS Box harness connector and chassis ground.

Specification : B+

4.

Is measured value within specification?

▶ Go to "Control Circuit Inpsection" procedure.

▶ Repair open or short in power circuit between Fuel Pump Relay and Battery and then go to "Verification of vehicle Repair" procedure.

Control Circuit Inspection
1.

Ignition "OFF".

2.

Disconnect Battery (-) terminal.

3.

Refer to "Shop Manual" and disconnect EMS Box and ECM/PCM connector.

4.

Measure resistance between Pin No. 11 (Control) terminal of EMS Box harness connector and Pin No. 53 (Engine Control Relay Control) terminal of ECM/PCM harness connector.

Specification : Approx. below 1 Ω

5.

Is measured value within specification?

▶ Go to "Component Inpsection" procedure.

▶ Repair open or short in ground circuit between Crankshaft Position Sensor and chassis ground and then go to "Verification of vehicle Repair" procedure.
