Terminal and Connector Inspection
1.

Many malfunctions in the electrical system are caused by poor harness and terminals. Faults can also be caused by interference from other electrical systems, and mechanical or chemical damage.

2.

Thoroughly check all connectors (and connections) for looseness, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, and/or damage.

3.

Has a problem been found ?

▶ Repair as necessary and go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.

▶ Go to "CAN Communication Line Inspection" procedure.

CAN Communication Line Inspection
1.

Ignition "OFF".

2.

Make sure all control modules' connectors are properly connected.

3.

Ignition "ON".

4.

Measure waveform signal between C-CAN High terminal of data link connector and chassis ground with Oscilloscope.

5.

Measure waveform signal between C-CAN Low terminal of data link connector and chassis ground with Oscilloscope.

Specification : Refer to Figure below

6.

Is measured value within specification?

▶ Go to next procedure.

▶ Repair short in CAN Communication circuit and then go to "Verification of vehicle Repair" procedure.

7.

Ignition "OFF".

8.

Disconnect Battery (-) terminal.

9.

Make sure all control modules' connectors are properly connected.

10.

Measure resistance between C-CAN High terminal and C-CAN Low terminal of Data Link Connector.

Specification : Approx. 60Ω

11.

Is the measured value within specification ?

▶ Go to "Component Inspection" procedure.

▶ Check PCM, MDPS, TPMS, ABS and Each Module connectors for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, or damage. Repair or replace as necessary and then go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.

▶ Check short to ground in CAN communication line. And then, go to 'Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.

▶ Check short to battery in CAN communication line. And then, go to 'Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.
