Terminal and Connector Inspection
1.

Many malfunctions in the electrical system are caused by poor harness and terminals. Faults can also be caused by interference from other electrical systems, and mechanical or chemical damage.

2.

Thoroughly check all connectors(and connections) for looseness, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, and/or damage.

3.

Has a problem been found ?

▶ Repair as necessary and go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.

▶ Go to "Power Circuit Inspection" procedure.

Power Circuit Inspection
1.

IG "OFF".

2.

Disconnect Yaw Rate & G Sensor connector.

3.

IG "ON" & ENG "OFF".

4.

Measure voltage between power terminal of Yaw Rate & G Sensor harness connector and chassis ground.

Specification : B+

5.

Is the measured value within specifications ?

▶ Go to "Ground Circuit Inspection" procedure.

▶ Repair open or short in power circuit between HECU and Yaw Rate & G Sensor harness connector and then go to "Verification of vehicle Repair" procedure.

Ground Circuit Inspection
1.

IG "OFF".

2.

Disconnect Battery (-) terminal.

3.

Disconnect Yaw Rate & G Sensor connector.

4.

Measure resistance between ground terminal of Yaw Rate & G Sensor harness connector and chassis ground.

Specification : Approx. below 1Ω

5.

Is the measured value within specifications ?

▶ Go to "Signal Circuit Inspection" procedure.

▶ Repair open or short in ground circuit between HECU and Yaw Rate & G Sensor harness connector and then go to "Verification of vehicle Repair" procedure.

Signal Circuit Inspection
1.

Ignition "OFF".

2.

Disconnect Yaw Rate & G Sensor connector.

3.

Ignition "ON".

4.

Measure signal waveform between CAN High terminal of Yaw Rate & G Sensor harness connector and chassis ground.

5.

Measure signal waveform between CAN Low terminal of Yaw Rate & G Sensor harness connector and chassis ground.

Specification : CAN High/Low Signal Waveform (Refer to Figure below)

6.

Is measure value within specification?

▶ Substitute with known-good Yaw Rate & G Sensor and check for proper operation. If problem is corrected, replace Yaw Rate & G Sensor and then go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.

caution

In case of replacing Yaw Rate & G Sensor, perform following procedures.

1. "Longitudinal G-Sensor Calibration" for longitudinal sensor offset correction.

▶ Repair open or short in ground circuit between HECU and Yaw Rate & G Sensor harness connector and then go to "Verification of vehicle Repair" procedure.
