Terminal and Connector Inspection
1.

Many malfunctions in the electrical system are caused by poor harness and terminals. Faults can also be caused by interference from other electrical systems, and mechanical or chemical damage.

2.

Thoroughly check all connectors (and connections) for looseness, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, and/or damage.

3.

Has a problem been found?

▶ Repair as necessary and then go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.

▶ Go to next procedure.

Power Circuit Inspection
1.

Ignition "OFF"

2.

Disconnect Front Left Sensor connector.

3.

Ignition "ON"

4.

Measure voltage between power terminal of Front Left Sensor connector and chassis ground.

Specification : B+

5.

Is measured value within specification?

▶ Go to next procedure.

▶ Repair open or short in power circuit between battery and Front Left Sensor harness connector and then go to "Verification of vehicle Repair" procedure.

Ground Circuit Inspection
1.

Ignition "OFF"

2.

Disconnect Battery (-) terminal.

3.

Disconnect Front Left Sensor connector.

4.

Measure resistance between ground terminal of Front Left Sensor harness connector and chassis ground.

Specification : Approx. below 1 Ω

5.

Is measured value within specification ?

▶ Go to next procedure.

▶ Repair open or short in ground circuit between battery and Front Left Sensor harness connector and then go to "Verification of vehicle Repair" procedure.

LIN communication line Inspection
■ Inspection for the voltage of LIN communication line
1.

Ignition "OFF"

2.

Make sure Front Left Sensor connectors are properly connected.

3.

Ignition "ON"

4.

Measure waveform signal between LIN communication line terminal of Front Left Sensor connector and chassis ground with Oscilloscope.

Specification : Refer to Figure below

5.

Is measured value within specification?

▶ Go to next procedure.

▶ Check short to battery or ground. Repair as necessary and go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.

6.

Ignition "OFF"

7.

Disconnect Battery (-) terminal.

8.

Disconnect Front Left Sensor connector.

9.

Measure resistance between LIN communication line terminal of Front Left Sensor harness connector and chassis ground.

Specification : ∞ Ω

10.

Is measured value within specification?

▶ Thoroughly check connectors for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, or damage. Repair or replace as necessary and go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.

▶ Check short to battery or ground. Repair as necessary and go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.
