Removal
1.

Measure and mark the cutlines on the lower quarter outer panel. Cut the lower quarter outer panel along the cutlines.

note

When cutting the lower quarter outer panel, be careful not to cut through the mating flanges or the side sill outer reinforcement and quarter inner panel.

2.

Drill out all spotwelds attaching the lower quarter outer panel.

3.

Remove the lower quarter outer panel.

4.

Drill out all spotwelds attaching the side sill outer rear reinforcement.

5.

Remove the side sill outer rear reinforcement.

6.

Clean and prepare all welds, and remove all residues.

7.

After removing, apply the welding primer.

Installation
1.

Drill 8mm holes along the new side sill outer rear reinforcement flanges for MIG plug welding.

2.

Apply body filler to the welded seam. Sand and finish.

3.

Fit and clamp the new side sill outer rear reinforcement in place.

4.

Measure each measurement point (Refer to the BODY DIMENSIONS) and correct the installation position.

5.

MIG plug weld all holes.

6.

Clean and prepare all welds, and remove all residues.

7.

After removing, apply the welding primer.

8.

Measure and mark the cutlines on the new lower quarter outer panel. Cut the new lower quarter outer panel along the cutlines.

9.

Drill 8mm holes along the new lower quarter outer panel flanges for MIG plug welding.

10.

Apply body filler to the welded seam. Sand and finish.

11.

Fit and clamp the new lower quarter outer panel in place.

12.

Measure each measurement point (Refer to the BODY DIMENSIONS) and correct the installation position.

13.

MIG plug weld all holes and MIG butt weld the seams.

14.

Clean and prepare all welds, remove all residues.

15.

Apply an anti-corrosion agent to the welded parts and the interior of the quarter panel (Refer to the CORROSION PROTECTION).

16.

Prepare exterior surfaces for priming, using wax and grease remover.

17.

Apply metal conditioner and water rinse.

18.

Apply conversion coating and water rinse.

19.

Apply the correct seam sealers to all joints.

20.

Reprime over the seam sealer to complete the repair.

21.

In order to improve corrosion resistance, if necessary, apply an under body anti-corrosion agent to the wheel well (Refer to the CORROSION PROTECTION).
