Tightening torque :
23.5 ~ 33.3N.m (2.4 ~ 3.4kgf.m, 19.4 ~ 24.6lb-ft)
When using SST, be sure not to damage the dust cover of lower arm ball joint.
Keep SST tied to the car because there is a risk of injury by dropping the SST during removing the lower arm ball joint.
The peripheral parts may be damaged when removing the lower arm ball joint with a general tool such as lever, so be sure to use SST.
Disconnect the air bag and horn connector from the air bag module and then remove the air bag module from the steering wheel.
Loosen the lock nut & washer then remove the steering wheel.
Tightening torque :
40 ~ 50 N.m(4.0 ~ 5.0 kgf.m, 29 ~ 36 lb-ft)
Remove the steering column upper and lower shroud.
Remove the clock spring.
Remove the multifunction switches.
Remove the lower crash pad(Refer to BD group).
Remove the reinforce panel by loosening the mounting bolts.
Remove the dust cover by loosening the nuts.
Tightening torque :
4 ~ 6 N.m(0.4 ~ 0.6 kgf.m, 3 ~ 4 lb-ft)
Remove the universal joint.
Tightening torque :
29.4 ~ 34.3N.m(3.0 ~ 3.5kgf.m, 21.5 ~ 25.3lb-ft)
Remove the steering column by loosening the mounting bolts & nuts.
Tightening torque :
13 ~ 18 N.m(1.3 ~ 1.8 kgf.m, 9 ~ 13 lb-ft)
Installation is the reverse of the removal.
When installing the clock spring, refer the RT group to prevent the damage of clock spring inner cable.
