Description

Excessive exhaust smokes or high exhaust gas temperature could be caused by poor acceleration and poor power in common rail diesel engine. Therefore, turbocharger and catalytic converter (or DPF : Diesel Particulate Filter) could be damaged by excessive exhaust smokes or high exhaust gas temperature.

Incase of poor acceleration, do NOT drive the vehicle for a long time and do NOT accelerate the vehicle quickly. It must be inspected immediately.

Follow the Inspection procedure as below.

Symptom

Inspection procedure

Case1

● Engine hesitation and poor acceleration occur at cold starting. But symptoms disappear after warming up.

● Go to 'Poor acceleration at cold starting inspection'

Case2

● Sudden poor power occurs and impossible acceleration above certain rpm while driving.

● Go to 'Poor acceleration inspection'

Case3

● Slight poor power occurs above a certain engine load while driving.

● Go to 'Slight poor power inspection'
