If excessive black smoke is discharged by DPF system and Engine control system malfunction. DPF would be damaged by excessive black smoke.
If excessive black smoke is discharged through exhaust muffler or vehicle is driven for a long time with poor acceleration, Inspect the DPF visually after removing the DPF.
IG S/W 'OFF', ENGINE 'OFF'
Remove 'Lamda sensor'.
Inspect the front of DPF(Diesel Oxidation Catalyst) visually through lamda sensor hole.
☞ A viewpoint is very narrow therefore, If there is a doubt about DPF damage, Inspect next procedure as below.
☞ If there is damage on the front of DPF, Inspect DPF after removing it.
Remove the front muffler after lifting the vehicle.
Inspect the rear of DPF visually.
☞ Inspect DPF damage, melting.
☞ If there is crack on the DPF, You can see the soot on the rear of DPF.

Case4 | ● In case of no trouble in the DPF assembly, | ● Go to 'DPF service regeneration inspection'. |
