Regulated Voltage Test
1.

Install a clamp-on ampere meter at "BATTERY" (+) cable.( Refer to Fig.1)

2.

Start the engine and turn on A/CON and electric devices (head lamp, defogger…etc).

3.

Quickly increase the engine speed to 2,500 rpm and read the maximum output current value indicated by the ampere meter.

11.7 ~ 12.3V (20°C, 68°F)

90 ~ 150 A

Are the measured voltage value and current value normal ?

▶ Click on "Cooling fan" item for more details.

▶ Click on "Spark plug" item for more details.

▶ Check electrical accessory installation.

▶ Check tension of the alternator belt.

▶ Check battery terminal and B+ terminal of the alternator (tightening condition and corrosion).
