Description

If soot inside of DPF is increased, Perform 'DPF service regeneration' function on the scantool. Exhaust gas temperature is approx. 600℃ when DPF is regenerated. Be careful not to touch the muffler as it may be hot enough to burn you. Never let the vehicle near flammable things. Inspection place must be well ventilated.

If excessive with smoke is discharged through muffler when DPF is regenerated, Stop the DPF service regeneration function immediately. Do not inhale exhaust fumes. If low quality diesel fuel (constituent of sulfur is above 50 ppm) is used, Excessive aluminum sulfur is discharged by high chemical reaction.

DPF cervice regeneration is to forcibly regenerate the DPF with scantool when the DPF doesn't have been regenerated during driving. If there are much soot in the DPF after repairing engine system, Perform DPF cervice regeneration also. If there is a problem in the engine, DPF cervice regeneration is not performed. Therefore repair the problem in the engine first. If possible, perform DPF service regeneration after driving because exhaust system is hot enough.

※ If temperature of exhaust system is not increased because of low outside temperature or rain, DPF cervice regeneration can be fail.

Diagnostic Procedure
DPF regeneration
1.

IG S/W 'ON', ENGINE 'OFF'

2.

Connect scantool to Data Link Connector (DLC).

3.

Must be no DTC in the engine system.

4.

Select 'DPF service regeneration' and press 'ENTER'

5.

Press 'ENTER' key after looking around data memorized in ECM.

☞ A/CON and electrical system (head lamp, defroster) must be 'ON' for engine load.

6.

Perform 'CPF cervice regeneration' refer to GDS.

7.

Monitor that 'Coverage driven length' must be '0' km after CPF service regeneration.
