Has a problem been found?
 | ▶ Repair as necessary and go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure. |
 | ▶ Go to "Power circuit Inspection" procedure. |
Many malfunctions in the electrical system are caused by poor harness and terminals. Faults can also be caused by interference from other electrical systems, and mechanical or chemical damage.
Thoroughly check connectors for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration,or damage.
Has a problem been found?
| ▶ Repair as necessary and go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure. |
| ▶ Go to "Power circuit Inspection" procedure. |
Ignition "OFF"
Disconnect Height Sensor harness connector.
Ignition "ON"
Measure voltage between Power terminal of AHLS ECM harness connector and chassis ground .
Specification : approx. 5V
Is the measured voltage within specification?
| ▶ Go to "Ground circuit Inspection " procedure. |
| ▶ Check for open or short to battery in harness. ▶ Repair as necessary and then go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure. |
Ignition "OFF"
Disconnect Height Sensor and AHLS ECM harness connector.
Measure resistance between ground terminal of Height Sensor harness connector and ground terminal of AHLS ECM harness connector.
Specification : 1Ω below
Is the measured resistance within specification?
| ▶ Go to "Signal circuit Inspection " procedure. |
| ▶ Check for open in harness. ▶ Repair as necessary and then go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure. |
Ignition "OFF"
Disconnect Height Sensor and AHLS ECM harness connector.
Measure resistance between signal terminal of Height Sensor harness connector and signal terminal of AHLS ECM harness connector.
Specification : 1Ω below
Is the measured resistance within specification?
| ▶ Go to Next procedure. |
| ▶ Check for open in harness. ▶ Repair as necessary and then go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure. |
Ignition "OFF"
Disconnect Height Sensor and AHLS ECM harness connector.
Measure resistance between Signal terminal of Height Sensor harness connector and chassis ground.
Specification : Infinity
Is the measured resistance within specification?
| ▶ Go to Next procedure. |
| ▶ Check for short to ground in harness. ▶ Repair as necessary and then go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure. |
Ignition "OFF"
Disconnect Height Sensor and AHLS ECM harness connector.
Ignition "ON"
Measure voltage between Signal terminal of Height Sensor harness connector and chassis ground .
Specification : 0V
Is the measured voltage within specification?
| ▶ Go to Next procedure. |
| ▶ Check for short to ground in harness. ▶ Repair as necessary and then go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure. |
