Many malfunctions in the electrical system are caused by poor harness and terminals. Faults can also be caused by interference from other electrical systems, and mechanical or chemical damage.
Thoroughly check connectors for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, or damage.
Has a problem been found ?

IG "OFF".
Disconnect (-) terminal cable from battery and wait for 1 minutes or more.
Disconnect HECU and SRSCM connector.
Measure resistance between CAN(IMU) LOW terminal(CAN HIGH terminal) of the HECU harness connector and chassis ground.
Specification : ∞ Ω
Is the measured value within specifications ?
| ▶ Go to next procedure. |
| ▶ If abnormal resistance is detected in CAN(IMU) HIGH circuit, Repair short to ground in CAN(IMU) HIGH circuit and then go to "Verification of vehicle Repair" procedure. ▶ If abnormal resistance is detected in CAN(IMU) LOW circuit, Repair short to ground in CAN(IMU) LOW circuit and then go to "Verification of vehicle Repair" procedure. |
IG "OFF".
Disconnect (-) terminal cable from battery and wait for 1 minutes or more.
Disconnect HECU and SRSCM connector.
IG "ON".
Measure voltage between CAN(IMU) LOW terminal(CAN HIGH terminal) of the HECU harness connector and chassis ground.
Specification : 0V
Is the measured value within specification ?
| ▶ Go to next procedure. |
| ▶ If abnormal voltage is detected in CAN(IMU) HIGH circuit, Repair short to power in CAN(IMU) HIGH circuit and then go to "Verification of vehicle Repair" procedure. ▶ If abnormal voltage is detected in CAN(IMU) LOW circuit, Repair short to power in CAN(IMU) LOW circuit and then go to "Verification of vehicle Repair" procedure. |
IG "OFF".
Disconnect (-) terminal cable from battery and wait for 1 minutes or more.
Disconnect HECU and SRSCM connector.
Measure resistance between CAN(IMU) HIGH terminal (LOW terminal) of the HECU harness connector and CAN(IMU) HIGH terminal (LOW terminal) of the SRSCM(IMU) harness connector.
Specification : Approx. below 1Ω
Is the measured value within specifications ?
| ▶ Go to next procedure. |
| ▶ If abnormal resistance is detected in CAN(IMU) HIGH circuit, Repair open in CAN(IMU) HIGH circuit and then go to "Verification of vehicle Repair" procedure. ▶ If abnormal resistance is detected in CAN(IMU) LOW circuit, Repair open in CAN(IMU) LOW circuit and then go to "Verification of vehicle Repair" procedure. |
