Terminal and Connector Inspection

Many malfunctions in the electrical system are caused by poor harness and terminals.

Faults can also be caused by interference from other electrical systems, and mechanical or chemical damage.

Thoroughly check all connectors (and connections) for looseness, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, and/or damage.

Has a problem been found?

	▶ Repair as necessary and then go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.
	▶ Go to "Charging Circuit Inspection" as below.

Charging Circuit Inspection

Ignition "ON" & Engine "ON".

Measure voltage between the battery terminal(+) and the battery terminal(-).

Specification : More than 8.5 ~ 9.5(20℃)

Is the measured value within specifications?

▶ Go to "Power Circuit Inspection" as below.

▶ Check that the tension of drive belt, ENG RPM, fuse, the terminal of battery, all terminals of the alternator are in good condition

▶ Check for damaged the harness and poor connection between the alternator and the battery.

▶ If OK repair or replace the alternator, go to "Verification of vehicle Repair" procedure.

Power Circuit Inspection

Ignition "ON", Engine "OFF".

Measure voltage between the battery terminal(+) and power terminal of AHS CM harness connector.

Specification : Approx. below 0.2V

Is the measured value within specifications?

	▶ Go to "Ground Circuit Inspection" as below.
	▶ Repair open or short in the power circuit between the battery and AHS CM, go to "Verification of vehicle Repair" procedure.

Ground Circuit Inspection

Ignition "OFF", Engine "OFF".

Disconnect the AHS CM connector.

Measure resistance between ground terminal of the AHS CM harness connector and chassis ground.

Specification : Approx. below 1Ω

Is the measured value within specifications?

▶ Substitute with a known-good AHS CM, check for proper operation.

▶ If problem is corrected, replace AHS CM and then go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.

▶ Repair open or short in the ground circuit between AHS CM and the chassis ground, go to "Verification of vehicle Repair" procedure.
