Terminal and Connector Inspection
1.

Many malfunctions in the electrical system are caused by poor harness and terminals.

Faults can also be caused by interference from other electrical systems, and mechanical or chemical damage.

2.

Thoroughly check all connectors (and connections) for looseness, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, and/or damage.

3.

Has a problem been found?

▶ Repair as necessary and then go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.

▶ Go to next procedure.

Power Circuit Inspection
■ Power Circuit Inspection
1.

IG Key "OFF".

2.

Disconnect BSD ECU(RH) Or ECU(LH) connector.

3.

Ignition "ON" & Engine "OFF".

4.

Measure voltage between ON/START INPUT terminal of BSD ECU harness connector and chassis ground.

Specification : Below 16 [V]

5.

Is the measured voltage within specifications?

▶ Go to "Ground Circuit Inspection" procedure.

▶ Check for open or blown fuse referring to "Circuit Diagram".

▶ Repair open or short in power circuit between battery and BSD ECU harness connector and then go to "Verification of vehicle Repair" procedure.

■ Ground Circuit Inspection
6.

IG Key "OFF".

7.

Disconnect BSD ECU(RH) or ECU(LH) connector.

8.

Measure resistance between ground terminal of BSD ECU harness connector and chassis ground.

Specification : Approx. 1.0 Ω

9.

Is the measured resistance within specification ?

▶ Substitute with a known-good "BSD ECU(RH) or ECU(LH)" and check for proper operation. If the problem is corrected, replace "BSD ECU(RH) or ECU(LH)" and then go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.

▶ Check for open or contact resistance in ground harness.

▶ Repair as necessary and then go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.
