Disconnect the MAPS and PCM connectors and inspect for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration or damage. Reconnect the connectors.
Connect the GDS and go to "Current Data".
Monitor MAPS values in Current Data, check and wiggle the harness(es), connector(s), and terminal(s).
Any change in the values indicates a poor connection. Was a connector problem found?

IG "OFF". Disconnect MAPS connector.
IG "ON".
Measure the voltage between power terminal of MAPS harness connector and ground.
Specification : Approx. 5V
Is the measured voltage within specification ?

![]() | ▶ Repair open or short in harness. Go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure. |
IG "OFF".
Disconnect MAPS and PCM connector.
Measure the resistance between signal terminal of MAPS harness connector and ground.
Specification : Infinite
Is the measured resistance within specification ?

![]() | ▶ Repair short to ground in harness. Go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure. |
IG "OFF". Disconnect MAPS and PCM connector.
Measure resistance between signal terminal of MAPS harness connector and MAPS signal terminal of PCM harness connector.
Specification : Approx. below 1Ω.
Is the measured resistance within specification ?
