PCM will set a failure P0106 DTC when
The output signal of the MAP is stuck lower than enable conditions.
MAP sensor value is less than calculated (threshold) value for 2 min during acceleration and deceleration.
MAP signal changes over 10% with no movement of the Throttle Position Sensor (TPS) or accelerator pedal.
Item | Detecting Condition | Possible cause | |
DTC Strategy | Case 1 |
•
Monitor the MAP sensor's signal | 1. Connecting condition 2. Open or short to ground in power circuit 3. Open or short to ground in signal circuit 4. Faulty TPS 5. Faulty MAPS 6. Faulty PCM |
Case 2 |
