Terminal and Connector Inspection
1.

Disconnect the OTS and PCM connectors and inspect for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration or damage. Reconnect the connectors.

2.

Connect the GDS and go to ""Current Data"".

3.

Monitor OTS value in Current Data, check and wiggle the harness(es), connector(s), and terminal(s).

4.

Any change in the values indicates a poor connection. Was a connector problem found?

▶ Repair the connector. Go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.

▶ Go to "Signal Circuit Inspection" procedure.

Signal Circuit Inspection
■ Check voltage
1.

IG "OFF". Disconnect OTS connector.

2.

IG "ON"

3.

Measure voltage between signal terminal of OTS harness connector and chassis ground.

Specification : Approx. 3.3V

4.

Is the measured voltage within specification ?

▶ Go to "Ground Circuit Inspection" procedure.

▶ Go to "Check open in harness" as follow.

■ Check open in harness
5.

IG "OFF". Disconnect OTS connector and PCM connector.

6.

Measure resistance between signal terminal of OTS harness connector and OTS signal terminal of ECM harness connector.

Specification : Below 1Ω

7.

Is the measured resistance within specification ?

▶ Go to "Ground Circuit Inspection" procedure.

▶ Repair open in harness. Go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.

Ground Circuit Inspection
■ Check open in harness
1.

IG "OFF". Disconnect OTS connector and then IG "ON".

2.

Measure voltage between signal terminal of OTS harness connector and chassis ground.(Measurement "A")

3.

Measure voltage between signal and ground terminals of OTS harness connector.(Measurement "B")

Specification : Voltage difference between measurement "A" and "B" is below 200mV.

4.

Is the measured voltage within specification ?

▶ Go to "Component Inspection" procedure.

▶ Repair contact resistance or open in harness. Go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.
