ETC keeps 1,450 RPM by retard of ignition timing in order to activate the catalyst converter under the condition that engine off time is over than 8 hour and coolant temperature is lower than 77℉.
If ETC can't keep the RPM as much as target RPM in catalyst heating range, it generates torque by throttle opening so that it keeps target RPM.
ECU shows P050A when the RPM is lower or higher than 1,450(target RPM) immediately after cold start.
Item | Detecting Condition | Possible Cause |
DTC Strategy |
•
Monitoring deviation between target idle speed and actual engine speed during catalyst heating | 1. Checking leakage of air intake 2. Checking operation of ETC |
