Removal
1.

Remove the transaxle assembly.

Manual Transaxle : (Refer to Manual Transaxle System - "Manual Transaxle")

Automatic Transaxle : (Refer to Automatic Transaxle System - "Automatic Transaxle")

2.

Manual Transaxle : Remove the flywheel.

(Refer to Cylinder Block - "Flywheel")

Automatic Transaxle : Remove the drive plate.

(Refer to Cylinder Block - "Drive Plate")

3.

Remove the encoder (A) and remove the rear oil seal case assembly (B) with the dust cover (C).

note

Do not place a magnetic substance around the encoder.

Be careful not to scratch or damage the encoder by falling down or impacting on. Keep the encoder from liquid sealant and other harmful materials.

Installation
1.

Install the SST (09231-1M200, 09231-H110) (A) on the crankshaft.

2.

Push in the rear oil seal case assembly (B) by hand and then tighten the bolts.

Tightening torque :

9.8 ~ 11.8 N.m (1.0 ~ 1.2 kgf.m, 7.2 ~ 8.7 lb-ft)

note

Do not reuse the rear oil seal case assembly.

Apply a coat of engine oil around PTFE seal before installing the rear oil seal assembly.

Be careful not to damage and twist the PTFE seal.

When installing the rear oil seal case assembly, do not hold the lip portion.

Remove harmful materials on the crankshaft flange and use the SST to prevent the PTFE seal from being damaged and twisted.

When keeping the SST, keep away from foreign substances and be careful not to be scratched.

Insert the dust cover (A) completely into the slot of the cylinder block and then confirm the assembly with the sensor cable (B).

3.

Install the encoder (A).

4.

Install the other parts in the reverse order of removal.
