Terminal and Connector inspection
1.

Disconnect the PCSV and PCM connectors and inspect for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration or damage. Reconnect the connectors.

2.

Connect the GDS and go to ""Current Data"".

3.

Monitor PCSV values in Current Data, check and wiggle the harness(es), connector(s), and terminal(s).

4.

Any change in the values indicates a poor connection. Was a connector problem found?

▶ Repair the connector. Go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.

▶ Go to " Power Circuit Inspection " procedure.

Power Circuit Inspection
■ Check voltage
1.

IG "OFF". Disconnect PCSV connector.

2.

IG "ON".

3.

Measure voltage between power terminal of PCSV harness connector and chassis ground.

Specification : B+

4.

Is the measured voltage within specification ?

▶ Go to "Control Circuit Inspection" procedure.

▶ Repair open or short to ground in harness. Go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.

Control Circuit Inspection
■ Check short to ground in harness
1.

IG "OFF". Disconnect PCSV connector and PCM connector.

2.

Measure resistance between control terminal of PCSV harness connector and chassis ground.

Specification : Infinite

3.

Is the measured voltage within specification ?

▶ Go to "Check open in harness" as follows.

▶ Repair short to ground in harness. Go to " Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.

■ Check open in harness
4.

IG "OFF". Disconnect PCSV connector and PCM connector.

5.

Measure resistance between control terminal of PCSV harness connector and PCSV control terminal of PCM harness connector.

Specification : Below 1Ω

6.

Is the measured resistance within specification?

▶ Go to " Component Inspection" procedure.

▶ Repair open in harness. Go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.
