Disconnect the ETC Motor, TPS and PCM connectors and inspect for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration or damage. Reconnect the connectors.
Connect the GDS and go to ""Current Data"".
Monitor TPS values in Current Data, check and wiggle the harness(es), connector(s), and terminal(s).
Any change in the values indicates a poor connection. Was a connector problem found?
![]() | ▶ Repair the connector. Go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure. |
![]() | ▶ Go to "Power Circuit Inspection" procedure. |
IG "OFF". Disconnect ETC Motor & TPS connector.
IG "ON"
Measure voltage between TPS power terminal of ETC Motor & TPS harness connector and chassis ground.
Specification : Approx. 5V
Is the measured voltage within specification ?
![]() | ▶ Thoroughly check connectors for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration, or damage. Repair as necessary. Go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure. |
![]() | ▶ Go to "Check short in power harness" as follows. |
IG "OFF". Disconnect ETC Motor & TPS connector and PCM connector.
Measure the resistance between TPS power and ETC motor (+) terminals of ETC Motor & TPS harness connector.(Measurement "A")
Measure the resistance between TPS power and ETC motor (-) terminals of ETC Motor & TPS harness connector.(Measurement "A")
Measure the resistance between TPS power and TPS ground terminals of ETC Motor & TPS harness connector.(Measurement "B")
Specification : Infinite
Is the measured resistance within specification ?
![]() | ▶ Substitute with a known - good PCM and check for proper operation. If the problem is corrected, replace PCM and go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure. |
