Disconnect the MAPS and PCM connectors and inspect for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration or damage. Reconnect the connectors.
Connect the GDS and go to "Current Data".
Monitor MAPS values in Current Data, check and wiggle the harness(es), connector(s), and terminal(s).
Any change in the values indicates a poor connection. Was a connector problem found?

IG "OFF". Disconnect MAPS connector.
IG "ON".
Measure the voltage between power terminal of MAPS harness connector and ground.
Specification : Approx. 5V
Is the measured voltage within specification ?

![]() | ▶ Repair open or short in harness. Go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure. |
IG "OFF". Disconnect MAPS connector turn IG "ON".
Measure voltage between signal terminal of MAPS harness connector and chassis ground (Measurement "A")
Measure voltage between signal and ground terminals of MAPS harness connector (Measurement "B")
Specification : Voltage difference between Measurement "A" and "B" is below 200mV.
Is the measured voltage within specification ?

Disconnect MAPS and PCM connector.
Measure the resistance between signal terminal of MAPS harness connector and ground.

Is the measured resistance within specification ?
