Terminal and Connector Inspection
1.

Disconnect the ETC Motor, TPS and PCM connectors and inspect for looseness, poor connection, bending, corrosion, contamination, deterioration or damage. Reconnect the connectors.

2.

Connect the GDS and go to ""Current Data"".

3.

Monitor TPS values in Current Data, check and wiggle the harness(es), connector(s), and terminal(s).

4.

Any change in the values indicates a poor connection. Was a connector problem found?

▶ Repair the connector. Go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.

▶ Go to "Power Circuit Inspection" procedure.

Power Circuit Inspection
■ Check voltage
1.

IG "OFF". Disconnect ETC Motor & TPS connector.

2.

IG "ON".

3.

Measure voltage between TPS power terminal of ETC Motor & TPS harness connector and chassis ground.

Specification : Approx. 5V

4.

Is the measured voltage within specification ?

▶ Go to "Signal circuit inspection" procedure.

▶ Repair open or short to ground in power harness. Go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.

Signal Circuit Inspection
■ Check short to ground in harness
1.

IG "OFF". Disconnect ETC Motor & TPS connector and PCM connector.

2.

Measure resistance between TPS1 signal terminal of ETC Motor & TPS harness connector and chassis ground.(Measurement "A")

3.

Measure resistance between TPS1 signal and TPS ground terminals of ETC Motor & TPS harness connector.(Measurement "B")

Specification : Infinite

4.

Is the measured resistance within specification ?

▶ Go to "Component inspection" procedure.

▶ Repair short to ground in harness. Go to "Verification of Vehicle Repair" procedure.
